Families across Western Australia can now access free, in-person support to claim the WA Student Assistance Payment through a new digital kiosk trial.
The ServiceWA Digital Assist Kiosks have been set up in 11 public libraries from Broome to Esperance, offering walk-in help to parents and carers trying to set up the ServiceWA app.
No appointments are needed, and support will continue until Friday, July 4.
Education Minister Sabine Winton said, “The WA Student Assistance Payment provides cost-of-living relief to Western Australian families, ensuring that students have everything they need to thrive at school.”
She said the government recognised that not all families are confident with digital tools.
“That’s why we’re bringing this support directly into communities across the State to ensure technological barriers don’t prevent eligible families from accessing this important program,” she said.
Secondary students are eligible for $250, while kindergarten and primary school students can receive $150 to help with school costs like books, uniforms, equipment and excursions.
One of the kiosk locations is Ruth Faulkner Library at the Belmont Hub, 213 Wright Street, Cloverdale.
The opening times are Tuesday, July 1 to Friday, July 4, from 10am to 4pm each day.
Regional Development Minister Stephen Dawson said, “The ServiceWA Digital Assist Kiosk trial is about ensuring all Western Australians can benefit from government digital services.”
Claims must be submitted by Friday, July 4. More information is available at wa.gov.au/servicewakiosks.
