The end of the rainbow touched down in Byford on Saturday.

One lucky person is half a million dollars richer after purchasing a winning lotto ticket at Byford’s AP Newsagency.

Western Australia celebrated four Division One prize winners in last weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.
The tickets are each worth more than $535,000, and were among 10 Division One winners across the nation.
The other winning tickets were purchased in East Victoria Park, Victoria, and Darch.
Byford’s AP Newsagent owner Ajith Pandithasekara was thrilled when Lotterywest contacted him on Sunday morning to tell him the news.

“This is the first Division One ticket we’ve sold since we opened in 2017,” he said.

“I’m really happy to see this and I hope to see more and more winners come out of my shop in future.”

He said he doesn’t know who the lucky lotto winner is, but believes it’s most likely a local.

“It should be someone from the area – most of our customers are from Byford and surrounding areas,” he said.

Lotterywest said these latest four WA winners boost the number of Division One tickets across the state to 62 this year.

“It’s fantastic to see four WA winners in a single draw,” Lotterywest spokesperson Emma Rogers said.
“We haven’t seen this many in a single night since May this year.”
