The popular local theatre group will be taking on this beloved, classic dramatic piece.

For all theatre enthusiasts and aspiring actors, Roleystone Theatre Inc. has the ideal upcoming opportunity for you this May.

As part of an upcoming production of Tennessee Williams’ classic, Pulitzer-prize winning play ‘A Streetcar Named Desire, the group is hosting auditions to find the ideal cast members.

The original play was released on December 3rd, 1947, for Broadway, and features the story of Blanche DuBois, a wealthy woman from the American South who, following a number of personal losses, abandons her privileged lifestyle and moves in with her sister in New Orleans, leading to a number of significant interpersonal dramas. The play would later be adapted into the acclaimed 1951 film starring Marlin Brando.

“Roleystone Theatre Inc. are seeking committed, emotionally grounded performers for our September 2026 production of ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’, directed by Adam Wolfe,” they have announced.

The play is described by them as: “a psychologically rich, ensemble driven work that requires actors who are prepared to engage with complex material in a safe, consent-based rehearsal environment.”

The main audition day will be Saturday 23rd May 2026, with callbacks on Monday 25 May 2026 in the evening.
