Part of Tuart Road in Serpentine Jarrahdale saw a 40km/h speed reduction this month following a Main Roads review.
A Main Roads spokesperson said the speed limit on Tuart Road, between Anketell Road and Thomas Road, was reduced from 110km/h to 70km/h to better align with the surrounding environment, land use and safety requirements.
The spokesperson said the traffic volume along Tuart Road averaged 582 vehicles per day, based on data supplied by the shire.
“This change ensures the speed limit is appropriate for local conditions and consistent with similar roads in the area,” the spokesperson said.
Five crashes had been recorded on Tuart Road in the five years to December 31, 2024, according to Main Roads.

“Of these, one crash required medical attention, while the remaining four were property damage only incidents,” the spokesperson said.
“No fatal crashes were recorded during this period.”
