There’s been a flurry of movement at the station, with the Byford Rail Extension project hitting some exciting and very visible milestones.
The elevated rail structure has now been completed.
The entire length of track has also now been laid and most of the overhead line equipment is in place.
Meanwhile, at Byford Station, the installation of finishes continues, including brick slip wall cladding and terrazzo platform tiles.
The internal fit-out works for the station are ongoing, and the external station works are also forging ahead.
The bus interchange canopy structural steel is now complete, creation of landscaped seating walls and bollard footings has begun, and work has started on paving preparation.
Member for Darling Range Hugh Jones recently took a tour of the Byford Station site and was excited to see the progress.
“Getting the chance to get up close and see the Byford Station coming together was a privilege, and I can’t wait to join our community on the platform when trains start running,” he said.
“Having access to affordable public transport will open up significantly more opportunities for our growing community here in Darling Range.”
