Langford is set to become a hub for local sport, with construction soon kicking off on a brand new four-court indoor sports centre.

The development will also include modern clubrooms, bringing fresh life to the area’s sporting scene. Just across the road, the popular bar and grill is getting a full makeover.

This will make the entire precinct a welcoming space for players, families, and the wider community.

Mayor Terresa Lynes visited the site recently, standing on what will soon be court one.

She announced that the old clubrooms have been demolished, groundworks are nearly complete, and building work is ready to begin.

“This has been a long time coming after years of hard work and advocacy and it’s so exciting to see it finally happening,” she said.

The Southern Districts Netball Association also shared an update, highlighting just how much progress has been made over March. What was once a pile of rubble is now a fully cleared and levelled lot.
Fresh soil is being prepared for compaction, plumbing has started, and a retaining wall has been built at the rear of the site. Reinforcements for the footings have also been delivered.

Adding a pop of colour and excitement to the site, the new match office, fondly nicknamed “The Yellow Submarine”, has been installed and is already in use for Saturday’s games.
