Lifeline WA has come to Byford providing residents with separation and bereavement counselling.

The introduction of Lifeline WA’s Prevention Services to Byford this month will ensure residents in the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale can access face-to-face separation and bereavement counselling in the greater Perth region.

Lifeline WA’s separation and bereavement Counselling is currently available to families and individuals, including children, at the Northbridge and Whitfords locations, and can additionally be accessed state wide via telephone and video call.

The introduction of the Byford location highlights Lifeline WA’s continued commitment to supporting vulnerable populations as part of the organisation’s mission to support people in crisis and create opportunities for their emotional well-being.

Lifeline WA chief executive officer Lorna MacGregor said separation and bereavement counselling were an integral part of Lifeline WA’s services.

“Martial separation, divorce and bereavement are highly stressful events in a person’s life,” she said.

“Providing prevention services to those most at risk relives distress and empowers people to make positive life decisions.”

Each year about approximately 14,000 parents are separated in the state, which collectively accounts for about 13,300 children.
