Armed man arrested after Canning Vale manhunt

Police arrested 30-year-old Malcolm Blurton early this morning.

A man police described as very dangerous and unpredictable has been arrested in Canning Vale overnight after Tactical Response Group (TRG) officers raided a house in the early hours of the morning.

WA Police issued an urgent call for public assistance over 30-year-old Malcolm Blurton on May 27, warning he was dangerous and likely armed.

Police and TRG officers raided the Canning Vale home at 1.15am this morning and arrested Mr Blurton.

No-one else was in the house at the time of Blurton’s arrest.

A shotgun and ammunition were recovered from the house.

It is believed Mr Blurton was wanted for a string of burglary and drug-related crimes in and around the Armadale area.

He has been charged with a total of twelve offences, including two charges of aggravated arm robbery, threats to kill, unlicensed possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Mr Blurton is due to appear in Armadale Magistrates Court today.
